How (Not) to Burp Your Baby
This burping technique came highly recommended by our pediatrician. If anything, he was even more reckless about applying it. He had just one piece of advice.
Don’t worry about the head.
Uh, OK. Sure thing. But what he didn’t say – what he should’ve said – was this.
Don’t let anyone else watch.
Oops.
It’s a good thing this blog is totally anonymous, or videos like this might get me in real trouble.

Hi Guys!
This is your Much OLDER cousin Lisa in New York!
Wow this is a wonderful way to share Blake with all of us!! He is absolutely Gorgeous. I wish we lived closer so that we could see him in person.
You’re absolutely right too…… Not the way to burp a baby! LOL!
That was funny to watch. You two will certainly have a lifetime of fun watching this little guy grow up.
My Son Randy is now 25 and he has given me Many Memories over the last 25 years, Children can be something else!
I hope you both enjoy every moment with your little angel.
Take Care and Love Ya,
Lisa and Alan

Hi Lisa – thanks for posting!
That burping method is extremely effective, and it generally gets Blake to burp in seconds instead of minutes. He tends to thrash around a lot when he’s over my shoulder, so he’s actually safer and more supported this way. It admittedly looks pretty funky and medieval, but our pediatrician has our back.
It’s not the preferred way to do it when cameras are rolling or the mothers are over, though, since it seems to raise the hackles of everyone who’s not a guy.

Just a thought. I don’t think this blog is actually totally anonymous. I mean, the address is Blake.Cressey.org. I don’t think I would even need my limited experience as a paralegal to figure out who you and Mommy are. It’s okay though. So far, this blog has represented you both as the excellent parents you are.
